Welcome to The PowHerhouse Podcast! In today’s inspiring and belly laugh-inducing episode, we’re joined by Prophetess Mercy Fokoya, a leading influential evolution leader who’s shaping the way millennials perceive their value and worth. As you listen, sit back and prepare for an enriching session filled with deep insights and heartfelt discussions about faith, personal growth, and discovering your true purpose.
We kick off with Mercy humorously setting the stage for a lengthy, engaging conversation. We shocked ourselves with how short the interview was, but that was likely due to me being strict with our time, lol. As we settle in, she shares her journey and the profound lessons she’s learned along the way.
Mercy is the founder of Pray & Prophesy, the convener of the RUACH conference, instructor at Mercy Mentors Me, and MORE – but child of God is the title and role she’s most proud of.
As she takes us into her personal journey with God, Mercy opens up about transitioning from a ‘church girl’ to having a personal, transformative encounter with Jesus. This part of our talk is particularly moving, highlighting the evolution of her faith from being influenced by her parents to establishing her own deep connection with God. Mercy’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of personal faith experiences over inherited beliefs.
As we continue the conversation, Mercy shares her insights on writing for ‘The Unveiling Her Devotional.’ She discusses her contribution to the anthology, focusing on her devotional titled ‘The Groan.’ Here, Mercy gets personal, sharing a story that is close to her heart and reflecting on the theme of God’s unwavering faithfulness, even in challenging times.
One of the most impactful moments in our conversation is when we discuss the concept of our lives being individual ‘books’ of faith. We all have unique stories of faith and resilience, akin to the narratives we may find in the Bible. I am careful to say I am NOT suggesting our lives can REPLACE the Bible, but rather we may be the only ‘Bible’ people will encounter. This perspective is empowering and serves as a reminder of the importance of investing in our own personal spiritual journeys.
Addressing the inevitable disappointments and setbacks in life, Mercy offers heartfelt advice on keeping faith during tough times. She emphasizes the value of perseverance, the significance of a supportive spiritual community, and the importance of never losing sight of God’s faithfulness, even when things don’t go as planned.
As we wrap up, Mercy talks about her future plans and how listeners can connect with her. This episode is a juicy conversation about our journeys of faith, challenges, and personal growth. Mercy’s stories and insights are sure to resonate with many, offering hope and encouragement to anyone navigating their own path of faith. Don’t miss this episode that’s filled with wisdom, laughter, and profound life lessons.
